What is Simple Wearable Report?
Simple Wearable Report is a free service that transforms your Oura Ring data into organized, easy-to-read health summaries. It helps you share your sleep, activity, and recovery metrics with doctors or use with AI tools for insights.
Is this service affiliated with Oura?
No. Simple Wearable Report is independently developed and operated. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Oura Health Oy. "Oura" is a trademark of Oura Health Oy.
Is this service free?
Yes. Simple Wearable Report is completely free to use. There are no hidden fees, premium tiers, or paid features.
Do I need an Oura subscription to use this?
Our service is free, but Oura Ring Gen3 and Ring 4 require an active Oura Membership ($5.99/month) for third-party API access. Without it, Oura blocks apps like ours from reading your data. Gen2 rings work without a subscription. See the Troubleshooting section for more details.
Is this an experimental service?
Yes. This is an early-stage, experimental product. Reports are automatically generated and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incomplete data. Do not rely on them for health decisions. The system is under active development.
Oura Ring Compatibility
Which Oura Ring generations are supported?
We support Oura Ring Generation 2 and Generation 3 (including Gen 3 Horizon and Heritage models). Any ring that works with the official Oura app and syncs data to your Oura account will work with our service.
What if I have an older Oura Ring?
Generation 1 rings are no longer supported by Oura's current API. If your ring works with the current Oura app, it will work with our service.
Do I need to keep my ring synced?
Yes. We can only access data that has been synced to your Oura account via the Oura app. Make sure to sync your ring regularly for the most up-to-date reports.
Troubleshooting
Why does my sync show "0 days of data"?
This usually happens for one of these reasons: (1) Missing permissions — when connecting your Oura account, you must approve "Sleep, Readiness and Activity Data" on Oura's authorization screen. Without it, we cannot access your health data. (2) Inactive Oura Membership — Oura Ring Gen3 and Ring 4 require an active Oura subscription ($5.99/month) for third-party apps to access your data via the API. (3) No data collected yet — if your ring is brand new, wear it overnight first and sync it with the Oura app. (4) Ring not synced — make sure your ring has synced with the Oura app recently.
How do I fix permission issues?
Go to your Dashboard and click "Disconnect Oura". Then click "Connect Oura Ring" to start fresh. On Oura's authorization screen, make sure ALL checkboxes are selected — especially "Sleep, Readiness and Activity Data". Click Allow to complete the connection, then sync your data.
Do I need an active Oura subscription for this to work?
For Oura Ring Gen3 and Ring 4: yes, an active Oura Membership ($5.99/month) is required for any third-party app to access your data through the API. Without it, Oura blocks API access entirely. Gen2 rings do not require a subscription. You can check your subscription status at cloud.ouraring.com under Settings.
Health Metrics
What health metrics do you track?
We track metrics across multiple categories: Sleep (total duration, deep sleep, REM sleep, light sleep, latency, efficiency), Cardiovascular (resting heart rate, HRV, SpO2), Activity (steps, calories, sedentary time), Readiness scores, Temperature deviations, Respiratory rate, and Stress indicators.
What data scopes do you request from Oura?
We request the following OAuth scopes: daily (daily summaries), personal (age, sex, weight for context), spo2 (blood oxygen data), and stress (stress metrics). We only request what's needed to generate your reports.
Is VO2 Max included?
VO2 Max is not currently available. It requires an additional authorization scope (heart_health) that we do not request. This feature may be added in the future.
How accurate are the metrics?
The metrics come directly from your Oura Ring via the official Oura API. We display them as provided. Oura's accuracy varies by metric type—consumer wearables have limitations compared to medical devices. See Oura's documentation for their validation studies.
What is the 7-day average vs baseline comparison?
Reports show your most recent 7-day average compared to your personal baseline (the P25–P75 range from the previous 30 days). This helps identify trends relative to your own patterns, not population averages.
Data Privacy & Security
How is my data protected?
Your data is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified platform. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data. OAuth tokens are stored server-side only.
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell, license, lease, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties. This is prohibited by our Privacy Policy and the Oura API Agreement.
Who can see my health data?
Only you. Your data is protected by row-level security policies. Even our team cannot access individual user health data without explicit database access, which is logged and audited.
How long is my data stored?
Oura health metrics: Automatically deleted after 59 days (Oura API Agreement compliance). Generated reports: Kept until you delete them. Account data: Kept until you delete your account. Backups: Retained for up to 7 days for disaster recovery.
What happens when I disconnect my Oura account?
All Oura-sourced data (health metrics, personal profile from Oura, OAuth tokens) is immediately and permanently deleted. Reports you previously generated are retained unless you explicitly delete them or your account.
What happens when I delete my account?
Everything is deleted: all health metrics, all reports, your profile, OAuth tokens, and account information. This action is irreversible.
GDPR & Compliance
Is this service GDPR compliant?
Yes. We comply with GDPR requirements including: explicit consent for data processing, right to access (data export), right to erasure (delete all data), data portability (JSON export), and purpose limitation (data used only for reports).
How do I export my data?
Go to your dashboard and use the "Export All Data (GDPR)" feature. This downloads all your data in JSON format, including health metrics, profile information, and reports.
How do I delete my data?
You have multiple options: "Disconnect Oura" deletes all Oura data but keeps your account. "Delete All Data" removes everything except your account. "Delete Account" removes everything including your account.
What is the legal basis for processing my data?
We process your health data based on explicit consent, which you provide when connecting your Oura account via OAuth. You can withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting your account or deleting your data.
Do you comply with the Oura API Agreement?
Yes. Key compliance points: 59-day data retention limit (Section 7), no data sales (Section 2), immediate deletion on disconnect, 24-hour breach notification to Oura, and user data access rights.
HIPAA & Medical Use
Is this service HIPAA compliant?
No. This service is not HIPAA-compliant and is not intended for clinical or diagnostic use. We do not enter into Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). If you require HIPAA-compliant health data processing, do not use this service.
Can I use these reports for medical purposes?
No. Reports are for personal informational use only. They are not medical documents and should not be presented as such in clinical, insurance, or legal contexts. Always work with healthcare providers for medical needs.
Do you provide medical advice?
No. This service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Reports are formatted presentations of your raw Oura data. Always consult a healthcare provider for medical concerns.
Reports
What's included in a report?
Reports include: your profile context (age, sex if provided), a 7-day summary period, metrics organized by category (sleep, cardiovascular, activity, etc.), comparison to your personal baseline, and trend indicators.
How often can I generate reports?
You can generate reports as often as you like. Reports reflect your most recent synced data at the time of generation.
Can I download reports as PDF?
Yes. You can download reports as PDF files to save or share. The PDF format is designed to be clean and readable.
Are my old reports kept?
Yes. Reports you generate are saved in your report history until you delete them or delete your account. You can access and re-download past reports anytime.
AI Integration
Can I use my data with AI tools?
Yes. You can export your data in JSON format and upload it to AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini for personalized insights. We provide sample prompts to help you get started.
Do you send my data to AI services?
Not without your explicit consent. If you connect via ChatGPT, you authorize access through OAuth and can revoke it anytime. For other AI tools, you manually download your data and upload it yourself. You control what you share.
Can I connect via AI agents like Claude Code or Cursor?
Yes. You can connect any MCP-capable agent using OAuth. Create an agent client in your dashboard, then follow the step-by-step guide at simplewearablereport.com/learn/agents.
Is there a ChatGPT integration?
Yes. You can connect your account directly to ChatGPT, which lets it access your health data and generate reports on demand. This requires OAuth authorization and you can disconnect anytime. The public listing is pending due to health data policies, but you can still self-connect via MCP OAuth. To create a custom app/connector, make sure ChatGPT Developer Mode is enabled in your settings.
Account & Authentication
How do I sign in?
We use passwordless magic link authentication. Enter your email, receive a secure link, click it, and you're signed in. No password to remember or manage.
Is my email shared with anyone?
No. Your email is used only for authentication and service communications. We do not share it with third parties or use it for marketing.
What is the minimum age to use this service?
You must be at least 16 years old to use this service. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 16.
Technical
How do you connect to my Oura data?
We use OAuth 2.0, the industry-standard secure authorization protocol. You authorize access through Oura's official authorization page. We never see or store your Oura password.
Can I revoke access to my Oura data?
Yes. You can disconnect your Oura account from our dashboard at any time. You can also revoke access from your Oura account settings at cloud.ouraring.com.
What happens if the Oura API changes?
If Oura modifies their API, some features may temporarily be unavailable. We monitor for changes and update our service accordingly. Your stored data is not affected by API changes.
Is the service available worldwide?
Yes. The service is accessible globally wherever Oura Rings are supported and the Oura API is available.
